A radiant and luxuriously decorated Christmas tree glows brightly in the corner; silhouetted before it sits a cat with a thought bubble above his head. In his mind’s eye, the cat sees the Christmas tree knocked over and in ruins.

On a clear night with a crescent moon high in the sky, Santa stands behind his sleigh on a rooftop, bag of toys slung over his shoulder. In his free hand he’s holding a cat by the scruff over the open chimney and he’s saying to kitty, “Try to land on all fours.” Kitty does not look happy.

A Christmas hearth in which an unburned Yule log sits, a wreath above it, and a lantern rests on the mantle. On the rug upon the hearthstones a small cat is curled into a cozy ball. Hanging from the mantle are three stockings: two for human feet and a long, skinny stocking just right for a little kitty foot is hung on the end.

A man is in his heavily decorated parlor, ribbon and tape in his hands, wrapping paper and ribbon at his feet. The mantle is draped in a sash, a wreath lays over the mirror, and stockings are hung in a row; the decorated tree towers over him from the corner and around the room are wrapped boxes of every dimension, neatly prepared for Christmas.

The man frowns as he hears a disembodied “Meow” from somewhere in the room.
